This workshop will deal with the two most common “headaches” HR and employers keep facing.
When it comes to workplace monitoring the question that often arises is what may/may not be monitored. This part of the workshop will deal with managing workplace monitoring and surveillance and it will cover the practical and legal implications of managing and balancing the legitimate needs of an organization to protect its assets and protect the workplace with the realistic and legal expectations of privacy of its employees.
The workshop will also deal with handling subject access requests from employees and this part of the workshop will mainly cover the following:
• Deciding the request made is actually a valid one
• communicating with the applicant to clarify the request
• setting parameters for the search for information and collating the results
• understanding whether the retrieved information is personal data
• dealing with third party information
• applying the relevant exemptions
• presenting the response to the applicant including how to redact documents
• managing dissatisfied recipients
• how to deal with an investigation
• staff awareness and training
